An antique village rug from Azerbaijan, featuring hand-spun wool and natural dyes. It showcases traditional motifs with lively, irregular lines that add character, making it suitable for modern spaces with cream and brown tones.
This small village rug originates from the villages of Azerbaijan and was woven by a rural woman who crafted it for a small space in her home. Following traditional Azerbaijani patterns, she wove the rug spontaneously, using hand-spun wool and natural dyes. Although she repeated the same flower motif, no two flowers are identical, with lines that are wavy, lively, and dynamic—much like the branches of trees in the village, freely spreading and blossoming in all directions.
The village rug is a work of art created by the weaver based on her feelings and taste, following the principles of rug aesthetics passed down from her mothers and inspired by nature. As a result, the antique village rug is a unique piece that, while depicting traditional Azerbaijani motifs, does not adhere to strict symmetry. Its organic design allows it to blend harmoniously with a modern space featuring cream and brown tones.
